Vivienne Westwood designs 'War and Peace' shirt for climate refugees

Supermodel extraordinaire Naomi
Campbell wears the "War and Peace"
T-shirt, $40, viviennewestwood.co.uk.
Iconic fashion designer Vivienne Westwood has lent her hand into environmental issues yet again by creating the 100% organic cotton "War and Peace" T-shirt for the Environmental Justice Foundation's "No Place Like Home" campaign.

Funds will go to assisting the millions of environmental refugees forced from their homes every day due to environmental hardships caused by global climate change. Since this new phenomenon is sweeping the world, countries don't know how to react to the issue, so EJF is trying to spread the word through its campaign.

Black girl organic tees

In the era of having design tees with an authentic message about your personality, I thought I could get a black girl tee.

Just Act Natural, $25.99, skreened.com.
When I was younger, these were practically nonexistent. Like I made the idea up in my head that I could have a tee with a message about being a cute black girl in suburbia. It was one of those times I assumed I had to become a fashion designer to get what I want because my visions were too extreme.

Don't Tell Me To Relax! Tee, $25.99, skreened.com.

But those days are thankfully gone now since there are these adorable tees that come with the organic cotton or recycled cotton choice on the eco-friendly tee website, Skreened. The site acts as a megastore for different tee designers, so it's easy to find something you'd like.

Casual, season-transitional tops

While enjoying a wintry heatwave out here in northern California, I couldn't help noticing the desire to wear my puff coats when the weather calls for just a sweater.

Rebecca Beeson Striped Cowl Top, $68, revolveclothing.com.
The confusing weather patterns got me thinking about seasonal transitions that usually don't start in February, but that may be another conversation dealing with global climate change.

Bamboo Scoop Top in Ivory, $38, shopnastygal.com.

The long-sleeved top, for example, is a perfect example since it can be made from thicker fabrics, but a thinner one is more appropriate now.

Eco-spotlight: Andira Raintees

Eco-fashion and charity is a double dose of goodness, and lucky for us, there are several companies that give back. Andira Raintees is one of them.

In 2007, Beth Doane started the company to spread of eco-fashion awareness and save the Amazon rain forests from destruction.

Showcasing colorful designs with nature in mind, the tees will be fun to wear with the warmer weather sweeping in.

Organic cotton long-sleeved shirts @ AE

American Eagle's offering some eco-fashion at a decent price. The Eco Shop has a few long-sleeved tees perfect for a relaxing weekend day when the skinny jeans and heels are a tad too much for a trip to the grocery store.

Eco-spotlight: Common Threadz

'Cherish' by Budi Kwan, $38,
commonthreadz.org
Finding eco-fashion is always a great thing, but eco-fashion for a cause is even better.

Common Threadz is a nonprofit organization that helps orphans in third world countries achieve their dreams by giving them the resources to be successful in school.

Organic cotton T-shirts and other pieces are designed by some recognizable celebrities, up-and-coming artists and fashion designers, and even the orphans.

Look for the recycling symbol to see if the T-shirt is eco-friendly. Proceeds go to the orphans to aid with getting school supplies, providing uniforms, and other activities. Also, the T-shirt purchases fund the livelihoods of local seamstresses.
